Federal Government Launches Online Portal for Civil Servants to Access Circulars Nationwide
The Federal Government launched an online portal designed to make circulars easily accessible to civil servants nationwide, regardless of their location.
Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), inaugurated the portal in Abuja, emphasizing that this initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing service delivery within the civil service.
She highlighted the longstanding importance of circulars in governance, noting that they have been vital in providing direction, clarifying policies, and ensuring consistent communication across the service but she however acknowledged that the accessibility and retention of these crucial documents had been a challenge, particularly as time passes and administrations change
Furthermore, the new platform aims to improve efficiency, accountability, and service delivery by providing a central repository of circulars, preserving the civil service’s institutional memory as she emphasized that the platform not only safeguards past wisdom but also supports current and future civil service operations, ensuring continuity and progress.
With the introduction of the Online Compendium of Circulars, civil servants can now easily access past and present circulars, including those from the current administration and extra ministerial offices. The portal is well-indexed to facilitate efficient searching and tracking of documents, reducing the time spent looking for information and enabling quicker decision-making.
