Federal Government Declares War on Bullying in Schools, Labels It a Dream Killer

July 4, 2025

The Federal Government has condemned the growing menace of bullying in Nigerian schools, describing it as destructive and harmful to students’ well-being and academic performance. At the National Stakeholders’ Summit on bullying prevention in Abuja, key ministers emphasized the need for a unified, multi-sectoral approach involving parents, teachers, traditional leaders, and policymakers to tackle the issue. The Ministry of Education highlighted ongoing enforcement efforts, including the launch of a national anti-bullying policy and the establishment of a task force. The summit, organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, drew hundreds of students and stakeholders who called for legislative support and greater public awareness to create safer learning environments nationwide.
