Federal Government Applauds Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Agreement, Urges Continued Peace Efforts

The Federal Government has expressed its approval of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which was implemented after 15 months of intense conflict.
In a press release signed by Kimiebi Ebienfa, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government emphasized its hope that the ceasefire would lead to an end to the widespread civilian suffering in Gaza as the agreement is seen as a step towards bringing much-needed relief to both Israeli hostages held in Gaza and Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government acknowledged the mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, who also served as international guarantors for the successful implementation of the ceasefire.
Furthermore, the government called for continued efforts from all parties involved to maintain the momentum for peace and ensure the successful execution of subsequent phases of the agreement as the government emphasized that a fair and just resolution for both Palestine and Israel would benefit the entire region and contribute to broader stability
