Fatal Collision: High-Speed Sienna Crashes into Parked Truck, Claims 10 Lives
At least 10 people have lost their lives in a tragic accident on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in the Abule Osun area including three children and seven adults, on Tuesday night.
According to Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, investigations indicated that the Sienna was traveling at high speed and failed to notice the granite-laden truck parked on the road, which had reduced the carriageway by half as the vehicle crashed into the truck from behind, resulting in a devastating toll on those aboard.
In addition to the fatalities, three other individuals sustained critical injuries and were rescued by the Federal Road Safety Corps before the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s team arrived on the scene.
Meanwhile, the deceased have been taken care of by the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, while the injured were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
