Digital Justice: National Judicial Institute Urges Judges to Safeguard Women and Children

May 13, 2025

The National Judicial Institute has called on judicial officers to be attentive to the unique challenges faced by women, children, and marginalized communities in the digital era, emphasizing the need to uphold justice amid evolving technological realities. At a workshop in Akwa Ibom themed “Upholding Justice in the Digital Age,” the Institute, alongside the National Human Rights Commission and Paradigm Initiative, highlighted the importance of equipping judges with the knowledge and tools to navigate complex digital rights issues such as cybercrime, online harassment, and misinformation, while ensuring alignment with constitutional and international human rights standards.
