Denmark to Summon U.S. Ambassador Over Reported Greenland Spying

Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen says he will summon the U.S. ambassador following a Wall Street Journal report that American spy agencies were instructed to focus on Greenland’s independence movement and mineral resources amid President Trump’s interest in acquiring the island. Rasmussen called the report “disturbing” and stressed that allies should not spy on one another, while U.S. intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard accused the Journal of politicizing classified information without denying the claims.
