Denmark Rejects U.S. Pressure on Greenland Ahead of High-Profile Visit.

Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has criticized the United States for exerting “unacceptable pressure” on Greenland ahead of a high-profile U.S. delegation visit. The visit, led by Usha Vance, wife of U.S. Vice President JD Vance, along with White House National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright, will take place from Thursday, March 27th to Saturday, March 29th, 2025. Furthermore, she dismissed the notion that the visit was merely educational, emphasizing that the U.S. is serious about its interests in Greenland and stressed that Denmark and Greenland oppose any attempts at U.S. acquisition while noting that the Nordic countries and the European Union stand firmly behind Greenland against U.S. pressure.
