Delta Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Defects to APC
The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was made following a closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba on Wednesday evening. Governor Oborevwori’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, confirmed that the decision was made after extensive consultations with political stakeholders and in the interest of the state’s long-term development. Oborevwori, who won the 2023 gubernatorial election under the PDP banner, was welcomed into the APC by senior party officials.
