Cross River Acting Governor Disowns South-South Governors’ Forum Statement

The Acting Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey has distanced himself from a statement by the South-South Governors’ Forum opposing President Bola Tinubu’s decision to suspend the Rivers State Governor for a state of emergency.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Fred Abua, Odey clarified that he was neither consulted nor involved in the forum’s stance. He affirmed Cross River’s full support for the President’s decision, emphasizing the importance of national security, peace, and stability, while pledging continued collaboration with the Federal Government to uphold constitutional governance.
