Chief Justice of Nigeria Urges Nigerian Bar Association to Defend Judiciary Integrity Against Frivolous Petitions

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has called on the Nigerian Bar Association to rise in defense of the judiciary’s integrity, urging an end to frivolous and baseless petitions against judges. In a statement, Justice Kekere-Ekun stressed that such petitions, often aimed at intimidating judges, are unfounded and traumatic for those investigated. She also highlighted concerns over lawyers criticizing judges without understanding court judgments and urged senior counsel to guide young lawyers in becoming responsible members of the Bar.
