Chief Justice of Nigeria, Raises Alarm Over Declining Ethical Standards in Legal Profession

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has raised concerns over declining ethical standards in the legal profession, emphasizing the need for renewed commitment to discipline and professional responsibility. Speaking at the public presentation of the Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee report in Abuja, she highlighted the critical role of the Body of Benchers in upholding integrity within the legal field. Furthermore, She called for fair and transparent enforcement of discipline through the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) while stressing the importance of continuous legal education, ethical benchmarks, and reforms to restore public confidence in the judiciary.
