CBN Warns Public Against Fake Grant, Contract Offers

May 12, 2025

The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned Nigerians to beware of individuals and groups falsely claiming to offer contracts, grants, or financial interventions on its behalf. In a statement signed by Acting Director of Communication, Halimi Sidi Ali, the CBN said it has not authorised any intermediary to act in such capacity. The bank stressed that it does not engage in unsolicited communications via phone calls, social media, or emails, nor does it demand fees for contracts or grants. It urged the public to report such fraudulent claims to law enforcement or the nearest CBN office.
