Bayelsa Deputy Governor Calls for Increased Investment in Human Capital Development
The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has emphasized the critical importance of investing in human capital development for the sustainable progress of society.
During a New Year visit by the leaders of Bayelsa West Senatorial District, including former Governor Seriake Dickson, Ewhrudjakpo reiterated that effective governance requires a focus on nurturing human resources to foster growth as he also stressed that while acquiring Western education is important, it must be coupled with competence and innovation for it to contribute to societal advancement.
In his remarks, he highlighted the longstanding unity of Bayelsa West as a political bloc, which has been a driving force for development in the region. He expressed gratitude to the people of Bayelsa West for their continued support, noting that the region’s political unity dates back to the era of the old Rivers State.
Senator Seriake Dickson, also speaking at the event, called for continued support for the leadership in Bayelsa West to drive further progress as he praised the deputy governor for being an excellent representative of the district and reaffirmed that their leadership had proven to be a wise choice for the state. Dickson also urged residents of Sagbama and Ekeremor to avoid divisive politics and instead work together for the common good of the region.
