Bassey Laments Fulham’s Unlucky Defeat to Manchester United

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has expressed his disappointment following the Cottagers’ narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Craven Cottage.
Despite dominating much of the Premier League encounter, Marco Silva’s men failed to capitalize on their opportunities, with United snatching victory late in the game through a deflected shot by Lisandro Martinez.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Bassey felt Fulham deserved more for their efforts.
“I thought we deserved more. We controlled the game, and it wasn’t our day,” the Nigerian international said. “You need a bit of luck in football, and it didn’t come our way today.”
The defender noted that Fulham had managed to limit Manchester United’s attacking threat but lamented his team’s inability to make their chances count.
“They didn’t create too much to trouble us. We were aware of their quality,” Bassey added. “We had a lot of chances; maybe in the final part at the end, we could have been better.”
The defeat leaves Fulham searching for consistency as they look to climb the Premier League table, while Manchester United continues to rely on late-game heroics to secure vital points.
