Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta Confirms Declan Rice is Fit for Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League Clash with Sporting Lisbon
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Declan Rice is fit to feature in Arsenal’s upcoming UEFA Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon, following a recent injury scare.
Rice, who missed last weekend’s 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest due to a knock, is now fully recovered and ready to return to action. In his absence, Arteta opted to start Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino in midfield, with the Gunners securing a dominant win thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Partey, and young talent Ethan Nwaneri.
Looking ahead to the Sporting Lisbon match, Arteta expressed confidence in Rice’s readiness, adding that his return will strengthen the team’s midfield as they aim to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan in their previous Champions League outing.
Arsenal will be hoping to get back to winning ways in Europe as they look to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the competition.
