41-Year-Old Dies in Overnight Fire in Kwara
A 41-year-old man lost his life in a fire that broke out early Monday morning at 158 Alaparun compound, Isale Alore, in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The fire, which started around 2 am, consumed a house that contained 35 rooms as the Kwara State Fire Service responded promptly to the distress call and managed to save 30 of the 35 rooms from the blaze as the other Five rooms were completely destroyed.
According to a statement from the Fire Service, firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the building. The cause of the fire was traced to spontaneous ignition in a room storing combustible materials such as petrol, batteries, and a tyre inflator engine.
The body of the man was recovered from the scene and handed over to his family after the firefighting operation was concluded as the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Falade John, expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and emphasized the importance of fire safety precautions, particularly when storing combustible substances, to prevent such incidents in the future
