Former Super Eagles defender, Joseph Yobo, will play a key role as one of the draw assistants at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final draw. The ceremony is set to take place at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco, today. During the event, the 24 teams that have qualified for the tournament will discover their paths to the trophy.

Joining Yobo in this important task are other African football legends, including Mustapha Hadji, Serge Aurier, and Aliou Cisse. The four former football stars will assist in drawing the teams from the pots, while also providing their insights into the tournament’s groupings.

The 2025 AFCON will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, and the final draw will be crucial in determining the structure of the competition. This prestigious event will see Africa’s top teams battling for the continental title.

The draw ceremony is a much-anticipated moment as it sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting AFCON tournament, with the participating nations eager to secure their place in history.
