Tinubu Pledges to Prioritize Welfare of Military Personnel at Barracks Commissioning

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of military personnel, promising increased resources and support to troops safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
Speaking on Thursday at Admiralty Estate near Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja, Tinubu commissioned a newly constructed military barracks named after him. The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Barracks is designed to accommodate over 600 personnel, providing modern living facilities for officers and soldiers.
In his address, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of prioritizing military welfare to ensure success in ongoing operations against bandits, terrorists, and other security threats.
“Knowing that the Federal Government is always ready to provide what our troops need to fulfill their mandates is essential for winning battles. You are our heroes, and I thank you for what you have been doing for this country,” Tinubu said.
He assured that his administration would continue to invest in the welfare of military personnel, stating, “Your welfare cannot and we will not compromise on it. We will continue to commit resources to improve your welfare. What you all are doing for us is extremely remarkable and appreciated, and the only way we can show this is through continued support for men and women in our uniform.”
Tinubu also urged the Nigerian Army to adopt a robust maintenance culture to keep the newly commissioned barracks in optimal condition for its residents. “What we must do is continuous development with the right maintenance and commitment to the welfare of our men and women in uniform,” he added.
